Family Support Group

Shepparton Access believes in people and what they can achieve

Shepparton Access supports people to become included in the community.
We are passionate about empowering people to make a difference to their lives.
People are encouraged to reach for their goals, fulfil their potential while having the freedom to dream.

The Shepparton Access Family Support Group is a group of family members who care for service users who attend Shepparton Access.

Our Family Support Group aims to improve outcomes for families by providing opportunities to meet, socialise and learn from other people in similar family situations.

The program has a strong sharing and supporting focus.

Guest speakers from Government departments and other organisations and services are invited to the meeting to keep families informed about new ideas and advances in the disability sector.

The Family Support Group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1.30pm at Shepparton Access.

All family members are welcome to attend.
The benefits of being a member of our Family
Support Group include:
•  Emotional Support – it is often a relief to talk things over with people who understand the caring role.
•  Practical Information, Tips and Resources – our members share information about local services and supports, or tips to help make caring easier.
•  New Friends – many carers find the demands of caring make it difficult to keep in touch with friends and family.  Being part of the Family Support Group can expand your social circle and keep you feeling less alone.
•  Providing Feedback – discussions during our family meetings provide ideas and thoughts which assist us to improve our services.
